Millersylvania State Park - Washington

Although the name of this state park is complicated there is nothing complicated about enjoying your time here. Easy to find and easy to explore Millersylvania is a great option for a last minute camping trip.

Millersylvania State Park is the perfect size to explore in a weekend. The park includes; Deep Lake, kitchen shelters, biking trails, hiking trails, glamping tents and an old growth forest.

Deep Lake is a non-motorized freshwater lake with 3,300 feet of shoreline. The park offers watercraft kayak, paddleboat and pedal boat rentals and the watercraft launch has a long generous dock. There are two beaches perfect for swimming but warning, they are a bit muddy. Fishing is available seasonally.

Once you catch your fish you’ll have plenty of places to cook up a delicious meal in the generous picnic grounds which includes four historic kitchen shelters. In fact, most of the park buildings where constructed in the 1930’s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The distinct design of these buildings certainly transports you through time and contributes to the feeling of being on vacation.

Birds and wildlife can be viewed on the many miles of hiking trails and be sure to bring your mountain bike!

The generous campground offers glamping tents! Yes, that’s right glamping tents! Forget the fuss of bringing all your gear and book a generously sized well-equipped glamping tent through Pampered Wilderness. There is plenty of room for traditional campers as well with 94 standard campsites, 45 partial-hookup sites and three restrooms. Campsites are all located a short distance from Deep Lake.

Our Take: Millersylvania is perfect for a quick weekend getaway because of its convenient location and easy to access amenities. Located between Olympia (the Washington State Capitol) and Centralia, this park would work well as a hub for exploring the surrounding area.

This park is very busy so if you’re hoping for peace and quiet this might not be the place for you. However, if you’re looking for an extremely family friendly campground Millersylvania is definitely the place.
