Every time we visit Baker Lake we always wish we could stay longer. Rain or shine Baker Lake is the epitome of Pacific Northwest moodiness mixed with unparalleled beauty. Our wish came true when we stayed at Shannon Creek Campground.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover and never ever judge a lake by its name. Diablo Lake is anything but devilish. In fact, it’s a little slice of Pacific Northwest heaven. Located on Highway 20 in the heart of the Cascade Mountains this lake will surprise you with its cool clean turquoise colored water.

You’ll feel like a kid again at Fort Casey State Park. Visitors are invited to embrace childlike glee by exploring each nook and cranny of this retired military training facility. Kids and adults alike are seen exploring bunkers, marveling at the views and peering out lighthouse windows. If you loved building forts when you were a kid here’s your chance to explore the real deal.

When your family says, “We’re headed to Priest Lake and we’ve got a spot for you.” You drop everything and get in the car. 

Priest Lake State Park is a remote lake paradise. Stretching over 19 miles and surrounded by mountain peaks it boasts sandy beaches, clear clean water and spacious campsites.

Cape Disappointment State Park will leave an impression with you long after you have left its salt worn shores. Waves, wind, cliffs and sandy beaches welcome you back to a wilder time of exploration and uncertainty. Expect the unexpected around every corner because whatever you do, you won’t leave disappointed.

Alpine lake, sometimes that’s the only two words you need to hear before planning a camping trip. Lake Wenatchee looks just like a movie set and is exactly what you might picture as the perfect lake getaway.

Although the name of this state park is complicated there is nothing complicated about enjoying your time here. Easy to find and easy to explore Millersylvania is a great option for a last minute camping trip.

You know you are about to have a fantastic adventure the moment you enter Deception Pass State Park. On the road, you notice traffic starting to slow. You lean out the window just as the scenery opens up and you find yourself on a massive, stomach dropping bridge 180 feet above the Puget Sound. On either side of the bridge you see breathtaking views, sandy beaches and forests as far as the eye can see.

At Dosewallips State Park you don’t have to choose between the forest or the sea, you can have both!

Dosewallips State Park on the Hood Canal is a great for a day or weekend getaway. Located on scenic Highway 101 the park has been referenced as the “Gateway to the Olympic Peninsula.”

Sometimes the best things come in small packages, Twanoh State Park on the Hood Canal in Washington State has just become our favorite small campground. 

With 25 standard sites and 22 full hook up sites this small park packs a big punch. Twanoh State Park has three sections, the campground, the waterfront day use area and a hiking trail which follows Twanoh Creek.

Located along the banks of the Puget Sound, Dash Point is a hidden gem between Seattle and Tacoma. 

This generously sized park offers everything the Pacific Northwest is famous for. A large beach on the Puget Sound, forested hiking and biking trails and fantastic views. On our visit we were lucky enough to see Orcas!

Have you heard of Sequim, Washington? Locals pronounce it “Sqwim” and the name isn’t the only unusual thing about this area. Sequim is part of a dry micro-climate in the rainforest of the Olympic Peninsula.

Located on the Hood Canal, in Washington State, Kitsap Memorial State Park is a modest and fascinating park. With only 35 camping spots this location is unique allowing campers quietude or friendly neighbor conversations.

Welcome to Washington State’s first park! Larrabee State Park is a charming campground located along the famous Chuckanut Drive.

If you are looking for a quick getaway and don’t have much time to plan Birch Bay State Park is a fantastic choice.

Ocean City State Park is the perfect example of the privileges Washingtonians enjoy. The sea, the forest and perfect sunsets.
