Sequim Bay State Park - Washington

Have you heard of Sequim, Washington? Locals pronounce it “Sqwim” and the name isn’t the only unusual thing about this area. Sequim is part of a dry micro-climate in the rainforest of the Olympic Peninsula.

Set on beautiful Sequim Bay this campground is a boater’s dream. This camp offers an easily accessible boat launch with a large dock and RV sites which can also accommodate a boat. Offshore moorage is also available.

We loved this campground for it’s small and cozy campsites. There are 45 standard campsites and 15 full-utility sites in two loops. Campsites are cozy and treed. Some of the sites can only accommodate a small tent which, as car campers, we loved. We were lucky enough to reserve a site with a water view.

Relax on the beach and dip your toes in the water off the dock. During our visit, mist surrounded the bay which gave it dreamy feel. We grabbed lunch in nearby Port Angeles but Sequim has some amazing restaurants as well.

The Olympic Discovery Trail runs through the middle of the park. Bikers, walkers and runners enjoy this 120-mile trail that stretches from Port Townsend to the Pacific Ocean. For more information click here.

Sequim Bay State Park is perfect if you’re looking for a cozy spot on the water or you need a central location to stay while you explore the Olympic Peninsula.

Our Take: Campsites are treed and private. Bathrooms were clean there are three to choose from.  The off season is operated on a first come first serve basis. This was a great hub for us to get out and enjoy the small towns on the Olympic Peninsula
