Dash Point State Park - Washington

Located along the banks of the Puget Sound, Dash Point is a hidden gem between Seattle and Tacoma.

This generously sized park offers everything the Pacific Northwest is famous for. A large beach on the Puget Sound, forested hiking and biking trails and fantastic views. On our visit we were lucky enough to see Orcas!

The Shoreline - With 3,301 feet of saltwater shoreline there is plenty of space for exploration, relaxation and all types of water activities. Canoes and kayaks can easily be launched from from the sandy shore. Anglers can fish from a large pier during high tide. Swimming and skim boarding are popular during low tide. Low tide is also perfect for beachcombers.

Hiking and Biking Trails - Dash Point offers 11 miles of hiking trails and 8 miles of biking trails. Hiking trails are especially beautiful during the Fall when hikers can enjoy watching the leaves turn. Trails offer forest and sound views and don’t forget to keep watch for a multitude of different birds! Day use facilities are well appointed with picnic tables and picnic shelters in several locations. Park Trail Map link.

Camping - The campground has 114 standard campsites, 27 utility campsites and cabins. Sites are mostly private and heavily treed. We found ourselves just as relaxed from the wind singing through the trees as we were listening to the waves on the beach. We were absolutely shocked that in such an urban setting campers can find peace and quiet.

Our Take: Campsites are well sized, treed and most are very private.  There are two loops to choose from, A & B. Picnic tables at each campsite were generously sized.  Bathrooms were clean and plentiful.
