Pumpkin Picking in the Skagit Valley

It’s possible you’ve heard about the Skagit Valley as a destination for Spring, but did you know this incredible farming community is a fantastic Fall destination as well? With dozens of U-Pick crops and plenty of pumpkin farms to choose from, be sure to add the Skagit Valley to your list of fun Fall activities.

We visited the Gordon Skagit Farm and Schuh Farm but there are many more to choose from. Each farm has a list of activities on their website. We also found great information on the Visit Skagit Valley website.

Gordon Skagit Farm was recently featured in Martha Stewart Magazine and had acres of the most interesting U-Pick pumpkins to choose from. There was so much to see and eat! Lovely art was on display and plenty of corners to poke your nose into. We found the best variety of pumpkins at this farm. There were also plenty of family photograph opportunities; flatbed vintage trucks, scenic murals and cute barrels for your personal pumpkin hoard.

Schuh Farm was definitely geared towards children with amazing hay rides, tractor barrel rides and a corn maze. The corn dogs were out of this world and we brought more than one pie home. We also stocked up our squash and vegetable supply. Talk about freshly picked, our supply has lasted us for more than 2 months!

The day flew by and we were filled with the excitement and joy of the Fall season. It felt good supporting community farmers and coming home with armloads of organic produce.

If you decide to make it a weekend we recommend staying in La Conner or Mount Vernon. Here are a few places that are our favorite:
